APRIL 28, 2025: Exploring Conductivity of Materials

In this class, we used the MicroBit to test the conductivity of different kinds of materials. Use your Conductivity work sheet to record your results.

Download the code below to your Microbit and see if you can tell which materials are insulators and which are conductors. Conductor one end of your alligator wire to PIN 0 and the other end to GND PIN.

Materials to test: paper, coins, aluminum foil, wood, plastic, plastic straws, Popsicle stick, rubber bands, eraser, fabric (e.g. sock), paper towel, wet paper towel

APRIL 21, 2025: Exploring the Environment

Use the MicroBit to explore the environment around you. The different rooms in your home have different levels of exposure to light, different temperature and sound/noise levels. The MicroBit is able to measure the levels of light, temperature and sound. Write the code below or download it to your MicroBit. Once done, explore the conditions of different spaces around you and maybe even the outdoors (with permission from adults). Is it colder outside than inside?
